PRIMARY SCHOOL ADMISSIONS
Is your child 5 years old between 1st September 2024 and 31 August 2025? if so, then you will need to apply for a place at St Joseph's Catholic Primary School.
Applications for a Reception Class place here at St Joseph's Catholic Primary School can be made from 1st November 2023 and the closing date for applications is 15th January 2024.
Note: you must apply for a place by 15th January 2024 even if you have an older child already attending our school. The quickest way to make an application is to apply online - a link to the Staffordshire County Council website 'Admissions Page' is below for your assistance. Alternatively you can complete a paper form (available using the link below) and either email or post the form to the address shown on the Staffordshire County Council website.
Primary School - Apply Online
If your child is baptised Catholic please ensure you make this clear on your application under the section "PREFERENCES FOR CATHOLIC & CHURCH OF ENGLAND AIDED SCHOOLS ONLY". You will also need to provide us with a copy of their Baptismal Certificate.
IN-YEAR ADMISSIONS

Guidance for Parents or Carers of children already of school age who are wishing to move to a Staffordshire School (from another Staffordshire School) will need to complete a In-Year Application form. Further guidance upon applications and choosing a school place can be obtained by viewing the Staffordshire County Council In-Year Admissions page.
Please note: where you wish to apply for a place in a school in a different local authority - please contact this local authority for guidance upon how to apply.

How Do I Appeal?
Should your application to Primary School have been unsuccessful, you can make an appeal by completing the online form.
A copy of the Appeals timetable relating to primary school admissions for the academic year 2024-25 is available above.
Appeal hearings will be independent and the panel will be chosen by Staffordshire County Council and their conclusion is final.

The appeals deadline for Secondary School places has yet to be advised.
